I have been carving and sculpting wood for most of my life. I started whittling and later learned furniture making. I prefer to use local hardwoods emphasizing the natural color and grain along with the use of graceful lines and nice proportions to give a simple elegance to my work. In the last several years I have been quilting because it allows me to use cultural icons and ideas involving moral imagination.
