Allison Ford + Caroline Calder Present “The Color of Hope: Where Nature Dances” at the NCC

Opening Night: Friday May 1, 2026, 5:30-7:30pm
The show runs from April 30 – July 15, 2026
“The Color of Hope: Where Nature Dances” celebrates the restorative power of the natural world through the work of artists Allison Ford and Caroline Calder. Their paintings capture nature in motion—where color, light, and form evoke the rhythms of renewal, growth, and resilience.
Presented at Neighborhood Cancer Connection, the exhibition reflects the organization’s mission of support and healing. Just as nature continually renews itself, the works in this show remind us that hope often appears in quiet but powerful ways—in color, movement, and the beauty that surrounds us.
Allison Ford is a lawyer and abstract/collage artist from Greenville, South Carolina. Her work is inspired by her children, her faith, bright colors and the sky, and organic shapes. She tends to paint her feelings and gravitates toward bold colors, incorporating many textures, depth, and layers. Notably, Allison received the 2024 Dwain Skinner Open Studios Fellows award. She works frequently with interior designers and families alike, and her work can be found in commercial spaces, retail locations, and beautiful homes throughout the Southeast and the United States.
Caroline Calder, a Greenville-based artist, brings a contemplative and expressive voice to the exhibition. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, Calder explores color, texture, and pattern through an intuitive process that reflects both the natural world and the inner landscape of the human experience. Notably, she is the recent recipient of the Metropolitan Arts Council 2025 Renato Vicario Award presented to an artist who demonstrates a thriving consistency and a dedication to their craft. Her work invites viewers into a space of reflection and hope—encouraging a sense of possibility and forward movement. Calder’s work has been exhibited at Centre Stage, Fork & Plough, Thornback Gallery, and the Indie Craft Parade Mini Market, as well as in juried exhibitions across the Upstate. She is the recipient of multiple awards, including honors from the Metropolitan Arts Council, Camperdown Art Walk, and Anderson Arts Center, and was a finalist and People’s Choice Award winner in the BMW Pro-Am Poster Contest.
