The Department of Visual Arts at Greenville Technical College is proud to announce 34 Awards. These student works are the award winners from the GTC Department of Visual Arts’ 2025 “Visual Arts Annual Student Exhibition” (VAASE). 34 Awards is now on view at Good Art Co., 10 Central Avenue, downtown Greenville and will continue every Wednesday through Saturday, 10-6 through February. The First Friday Reception is February 6, 6-9 pm. These award-winning student works represent the best of the best from Greenville Tech’s Department of Visual Arts (DVA). 52 Visual Arts students entered 138 works in DVA’s annual fall juried competition. 55 works were juried into the 2025 “Visual Arts Annual Student Exhibition,” and 34 were awarded cash prizes.

Many thanks to our 2025 VAASE juror, Denise Woodward-Detrich, the Director of Lee Gallery in the Department of Art at Clemson University and a ceramic artist herself. Denise took a day out of her busy schedule to view all the entries and choose works that comprised VAASE including 34 Awards now on view. She stated, “I’ve seen many artworks over the years, and I’ve always been impressed with the quality of work being produced by Greenville Tech students. The tradition of excellence within Greenville Tech’s Department of Visual Arts is widely known!!”

The Department of Visual Arts at Greenville Tech offers associate degrees and certificates in fine arts, graphic design, photography, and web design. Greenville Tech’s DVA graduates are highly sought after by local advertising firms, professional photographers, and regional universities. 34 Awards showcases DVA’s varied curriculum: ceramics, design & color, digital imagery, drawing, graphic design, photography, typography, and web design. Join us at 34 Awards to celebrate the success and diligence of all GTC’s student artists and the excellence of the DVA faculty. All high school students interested in continuing studies in visual arts can discover the quality and breadth of Greenville Tech’s locally available art education by visiting 34 Awards.
VAASE awards were made possible by generous contributions from the Jean T. and Heyward G. Pelham Foundation, plus the Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC) with funds received from the City of Greenville, BMW Manufacturing Company, SEW Eurodrive and the South Carolina Arts Commission. The MAC grant funds are matched by our 2025 corporate sponsors APCO Plastics, Bennetts’ Frame & Art Gallery, Suburban Paint, and the Greenville Tech Foundation. Their generosity made it possible for us to double the total amount of cash awards from previous years. Thank you.

Thank you to Shaun McCallum of Good Art Co. for demonstrating his enthusiasm for emerging artists by hosting 34 Awards. Please visit getgoodart.co or call (864) 381-7539.
