ART SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
We are your neighbors! The Neighborhood Cancer Connection has supported Greenville’s cancer patients and their families for 60+ years and has thousands of visitors and clients each year. We’re all about connecting and offering support; belonging makes life worth living. We also believe that art lifts the spirit.
Partner with Us:
Currently, our stunning new building at 113 Mills Ave. is adorned with art donated by local artists. Now, we have opened a significant and beautiful space for exhibitions: the art gallery @ NCC, and we are creating a flexible program tailored to you. One or two local artists will be exhibited each quarter; each artist will have three months of exhibition time.
The Space:
Your artwork will be displayed on a total of 41’ of linear wall space in our inviting, light-filled second-floor mezzanine and hallways. Floor plan with measurements is attached (red lines indicate available wall space). This is a beautiful area ideal for artist receptions and talks.
The Art:
We seek proposals for art for our 2026 exhibits that align with the NCC’s mission to equip patients and their caregivers for the most successful journey through cancer. We wish to give our clients respite from their challenges and uplift their spirits. We seek original artwork that conveys healing, wellness, connectedness, and/or recovery.
Artwork selection will be made in coordination with the NCC’s Art Gallery Director Emily Randolph. All work must be 2D and be wired for hanging.
Terms:
There is no submission fee. Your artwork will be made available for sale with 100% of the sale going to and handled directly by the artist. A minimum 30% of sales shall be paid directly by you to the NCC to support the NCC’s mission. We welcome higher donations levels. The NCC will provide a tax donation receipt for your donation. Therefore, not only do you receive a three-month long exhibition space, you also receive a tax benefit for sales.
You are responsible for delivery and removal of art, as well as for insuring your work. A contract and damage waiver must be signed, and NCC will work with you to hang artwork.
Marketing:
There will be an artist’s reception for each exhibit, which will be promoted on the NCC’s social media, website and newsletter, and through the Metropolitan Art Council. We will participate informally on First Fridays as an afternoon event. Events such as an artist’s talk may also be scheduled. As your partner, we are open to ideas for events.
Currently, the quarterly 2026 exhibition dates are slated for:
January 20 – April 15 (submission deadline December 5, 2025)
April 20 – July 15
July 20 – September 15
September 20 – December 31
