Artist Statement
(Required)
This it the "Heart" of Open Studios. Showing process is an integral part of the experience of Open Studios. It does not mean you have to demonstrate your art-making process, it means creatively providing a visual display that will explain and educate the visiting public on your process. In the same way the value of Open Studios is for the public to see an artist’s workspace, it is also about giving the public the opportunity to learn about how the art is made. As much as it is about sharing your work, it is about sharing how you make the work. This is a component of the weekend event that must be considered seriously. Not abiding by the requirement to show process can jeopardize your eligibility to participate in Open Studios in the future. For more information and ideas, contact MAC.
Artistic Process
(Required)
Describe how you will show your process
IMAGE SUBMISSIONS
Studio Images
(Required)
Upload at least two images of your studio space from opposing corners. You may share up to 4 images. The more comprehensively your photos communicate the space, the better. We need to be able to get a true sense of the entire studio (make sure all 4 walls have been included among your photos). These do not need to be professional photos - they can be snapshots from your phone/digital camera. The jurying committee may request a studio visit prior to acceptance if the "validity" of the space is in question.

Open Studios Participation Agreement
(Required)
Artists must be physically present in their studio during the Open Studios hours of: Saturday, November 15, 10am - 6pm and Sunday, November 16, 12 - 6pm. Artists will show visitors the actual workspace, materials, tools and works-in-progress and will make their process visible as described in the Artistic Process section. Artists will create a safe environment for adults and children. Artists will have a minimum of 10 completed pieces of recent, original works of art displayed. Artists will have no more than 20% of display space devoted to appropriately-labeled commercial reproductions. No other artist’s work will be displayed in a participating artist's studio. During Open Studios, artists will provide a mechanism to track all visitors to their studio and all sales attributed to the participation in Open Studios. Artists will submit these records to MAC by November 28, 2025. (Attendance and sales records help MAC in securing grants and sponsorship monies for the event. Participation in this matter is crucial to the future funding of Open Studios and will be kept confidential)
