I did my first carving in a seventh grade art class. I never forgot it. I have carved through a tour in the U S Army, marriage, children, career changes and relocations. For the last 20 years I have been a semi-professional wood sculptor and have been fortunate to experience a wide range of work. From human portraiture to architectural carvings; from realistic wildlife carvings to fantasy figures; it’s all been fun.
My current emphasis is on Wood Spirit Faces from Cottonwood Bark. No two pieces of bark are ever the same shape or size. This makes each piece truly unique. The real challenge is to imbue each piece with a life of it’s own. If I am successful the “SPIRIT” said to reside in every piece of wood speaks to you from my carving.

Directions
Take Laurens Rd (Hwy 276) to Parkins Mill Rd. Turn onto Parkins Mill Rd, go to the eighth street on the right, turn right. At the first stop sign turn right onto Lady Marion Lane. Tenth house on the left. The studio is behind the house.
