SUMMARY:In the Land of Wooden Shoes
DESCRIPTION:In the Land of Wooden Shoes – A Holocaust Remembrance opens June 12\, 2026\, in the Lenz Gallery at First Presbyterian Church. \nThis powerful exhibition\, a collaboration between the Anne Frank Center and South Carolina artist Mary Burkett\, tells the stories of children affected by the Holocaust through moving visual portraits and storytelling. More than an art exhibit\, it is an immersive experience of remembrance—honoring young lives\, fostering empathy\, and inviting reflection. \nJune 12 – November 20

SUMMARY:Are We There Yet?
DESCRIPTION:Are We There Yet exhibit invites you to consider the experience of fostering and adoption from many perspectives. Often full of twists and turns\, we recognize that caring for children and orphans is a job close to the heart of God. \n“A father to the fatherless\, a defender of widows\, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families\, he leads out the prisoners with singing” (Psalm 68:5-6a). \nBoth the Fine Arts and Children’s Ministry are excited to partner with the Heart Gallery of SC\, Flourish Adoption agency\, and the Premier Arts Collective Art Room at Triune Mercy Center along with individual artists and their families to show you the feelings of sorrow\, hope\, pain\, and joy of the fostering and adoptive experience. \nJoin us on Friday\, September 25 from 4:00-7:00pm for an opening reception to meet the artists and see the exhibition!
