SUMMARY:Laurie Buck: The Light Breaks Through
DESCRIPTION:“the art gallery @ NCC” presents Greenville’s own Laurie Buck with her collection “The Light Breaks Through”: an exhibition benefitting the Neighborhood Cancer Connection (NCC)\, a Greenville-based nonprofit providing free practical\, emotional\, and educational support to individuals and families facing cancer. \nWhen you purchase a piece from this collection\, a portion of the proceeds will be donated directly to NCC\, allowing you to collect original artwork while supporting meaningful work in our community. \n“My work often examines light: how it returns fresh each morning\, a symbol of hope and possibility\, and moves through the world with quiet persistence. In this body of work\, light is both subject and structure\, expressed through floral and purely abstract compositions. I’m always drawn to the idea that beauty can emerge even in chaos and difficulty both in art and in life. Sharing this exhibition at the Neighborhood Cancer Connection feels especially meaningful\, as their work reflects this same belief that light\, beauty\, and compassion can break through bringing hope even in the most difficult seasons.” – Laurie Buck\, 2026 \nhttps://artgalleryatncc.my.canva.site/\nHttps://www.NCCgreenville.org\nhttps://lauriebuckstudio.com/cancerbenefitcollection

SUMMARY:ART CALL : NOW ACCEPTING EXHIBITION PROPOSALS
DESCRIPTION:ART EXHIBITION PROPOSAL GUIDELINES \nWe are your neighbors! The Neighborhood Cancer Connection has supported Greenville’s cancer patients and their families for 60+ years and has thousands of visitors and clients each year. We’re all about connecting and offering support; belonging makes life worth living. We also believe that art lifts the spirit. \nPartner with Us: We have opened a significant and beautiful space for exhibitions: the art gallery @ NCC within our new building at 113 Mills Ave. One or two local artists will be exhibited each quarter; each artist will have three months of exhibition time. The gallery is open to the public during the center’s business hours. \nThe Space: Your artwork will be displayed on a total of 41’ of linear wall space in our inviting\, light-filled second-floor mezzanine and hallways. Floor plan with measurements is attached (red lines indicate available wall space). This is a beautiful area ideal for artist receptions and talks. \nThe Art: We seek proposals for art for our 2026 exhibits that align with the NCC’s mission to equip patients and their caregivers for the most successful journey through cancer. We wish to give our clients respite from their challenges and uplift their spirits. We seek original artwork that conveys healing\, wellness\, connectedness\, and/or recovery. Artists should be from the Upstate region and easily accessible to the gallery. \nArtwork selection will be made in coordination with the NCC’s board member and Art Liaison Emily Randolph. All work must be 2D and be wired for hanging. \nTerms: There is no submission fee. Your artwork will be made available for sale with 100% of the sale going to and handled directly by the artist. A minimum 30% of sales shall be paid directly by you to the NCC to support the NCC’s mission. We welcome higher donations levels. The NCC will provide a tax donation receipt for your donation. Therefore\, not only do you receive a three-month long exhibition space\, you also receive a tax benefit for sales. \nYou are responsible for delivery and removal of art\, as well as for insuring your work. A contract and damage waiver must be signed\, and NCC will work with you to hang artwork. \nMarketing: There will be an artist’s reception for each exhibit\, which will be promoted on the NCC’s social media\, website and newsletter\, and through the Metropolitan Art Council. We will participate informally on First Fridays as an afternoon event. Events such as an artist’s talk may also be scheduled.
