DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery and The Anchorage Restaurant are pleased to announce the inaugural exhibition in their 2026 partnership series. A solo exhibition featuring work by local Greenville\, S.C. artist Gretta McCall will be on view at The Anchorage in the Village of West Greenville from January 6 to April 7\, 2026. The Anchorage Exhibition Series brings art beyond the walls of Art & Light Gallery to offer an immersive experience that fuses culinary and visual arts at The Anchorage Restaurant. \nGretta McCall’s paintings explore the complex interplay between ourselves and the natural world\, moving fluidly between abstraction and recognizable subject matter. Her process begins with an immersive “drawing expedition” into nature. These explorations result in quick\, expressive studies of compelling landscapes and forms\, which then serve as the source material for her paintings. Her work is driven by the desire to express emotion with the medium\, utilizing a love of color to explore endless possibilities and relationships. McCall states\, “The landscape has become the subject for exploration because nature has been my refuge\, solace and companion since I was a child. Each painting must have a distinct voice. Through the painting process I become aware of the deep places within me that are becoming a part of the painting. Life demands that we embody joy and sorrow simultaneously. Therefore\, I seek to reflect this in my work”. \nJoin Gretta McCall for an intimate artist talk on Thursday\, February 12 from 5:00-6:30 PM. DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery and The Anchorage Restaurant are happy to announce a solo exhibition of work by Greenville\, S.C. artist Genna Grushovenko on view at The Anchorage in the Village of West Greenville through January 6\, 2026. The Anchorage Exhibition Series brings art beyond the walls of Art & Light Gallery to offer an immersive experience that fuses culinary and visual arts. \nGennadiy Grushovenko is a mixed media artist with over 30 years of studio art practice. His artistic journey began in Kyiv\, Ukraine\, continued in LaGrange\, Georgia\, and ultimately landed in Greenville. Chief among Genna’s many inspirations are the primal use of color and a visceral\, spontaneous approach to creation that often characterizes abstract expressionism. Recently Genna has begun a new abstract body of work using painting techniques he modified and honed while painting with his wife and collaborator\, Signe Grushovenko for the past twenty-plus years. He almost never uses paint brushes\, instead relying on his hands and improvised tools to facilitate unique mark making and paint flow. He is creating pieces that explore fluidity and unpredictability by allowing the paint to move and take its own form on the canvas. \nJoin Genna Grushovenko for an intimate artist talk on Thursday\, November 20 from 5:00-6:30 PM.
