While exploring subject matter that interests me, I build up layers using various types of paint, pencils, pastels, graphite, ink and other mediums. I experiment with the materials and then respond to what I have done. It becomes a dialog between me and the work in progress. I am interested in shapes and calligraphy in the work, and in combining structure with lyrical movement.
