SUMMARY:Allison Ford and Caroline Calder Present “The Color of Hope: Where Nature Dances” | A Celebratory Exhibition Supporting the Neighborhood Cancer Connection
DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception: Friday\, May 1\, 2026 | 5:30 – 7:30 PM \nThe Neighborhood Cancer Connection’s art gallery – “the art gallery at NCC” – is honored to present The Color of Hope: Where Nature Dances\, a vibrant and uplifting exhibition featuring the work of Greenville-based artists Allison Ford and Caroline Calder. Their paintings celebrate the restorative power of the natural world and capture nature in motion—where color\, light\, and form evoke the rhythms of renewal\, growth\, and resilience. \nThe exhibition reflects the organization’s mission of support and healing. Just as nature continually renews itself\, the paintings within this show remind us that hope often appears in quiet but powerful ways—in color\, movement\, and the beauty that surrounds us. \nAt its heart\, The Color of Hope reflects the mission of Neighborhood Cancer Connection: to support individuals and families navigating cancer with compassion\, strength\, and community. The exhibition is an invitation to experience beauty\, connection\, and renewal through art. \nAbout the Artists\nAllison Ford is a lawyer and abstract/collage artist from Greenville\, South Carolina.  Her work is inspired by her children\, her faith\, bright colors and the sky\, and organic shapes. She tends to paint her feelings and gravitates toward bold colors\, incorporating many textures\, depth\, and layers. She works frequently with interior designers and families alike\, and her work can be found in commercial spaces\, retail locations\, and beautiful homes throughout the Southeast and the United States. \nCaroline Calder\, a Greenville-based artist\, brings a contemplative and expressive voice to the exhibition. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media\, Calder explores color\, texture\, and pattern through an intuitive process that reflects both the natural world and the inner landscape of the human experience.\nHer work invites viewers into a space of reflection and hope—encouraging a sense of possibility and forward movement. Calder’s work has been exhibited at Centre Stage\, Fork & Plough\, Thornback Gallery\, and the Indie Craft Parade Mini Market\, as well as in juried exhibitions across the Upstate. She is the recipient of multiple awards\, including honors from the Metropolitan Arts Council\, Camperdown Art Walk\, and Anderson Arts Center\, and was a finalist and People’s Choice Award winner in the BMW Pro-Am Poster Contest. \nArt with Purpose\nA portion of all proceeds from the exhibition will benefit the nonprofit Neighborhood Cancer Connection\, directly supporting local individuals and families impacted by cancer. Through direct financial assistance\, emotional support\, and community-centered initiatives\, NCC addresses both the practical and human dimensions of care. \n“the art gallery @ NCC” is open to the public during the NCC’s regular business hours: Mon – Thurs. 8-4:30 | Fri 8-12:30 | Closed 12:30-1:30.
