SUMMARY:Coppélia
DESCRIPTION:Coppélia is a lighthearted ballet that tells the story of Swanhilda\, her fiancé Franz\, and the quirky inventor Dr. Coppélius. When Franz becomes enchanted by Coppélia\, a beautiful girl who sits motionless on Dr. Coppélius’ balcony\, Swanhilda grows jealous and suspicious. Determined to uncover the truth\, she sneaks into Dr. Coppélius’s workshop\, only to discover that Coppélia is not a real girl but a mechanical creation. Cleverly disguising herself as the doll\, Swanhilda teaches both Franz and the doctor a lesson\, leading to a joyful conclusion that celebrates her reconciliation with Franz. Join Greenville’s own International Ballet for this delightful\, full-length classic story ballet.
