SUMMARY:Diane Kilgore Condon Solo Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery is thrilled to present a solo exhibition of work by Diane Kilgore Condon launching on Tuesday\, March 3 with an opening reception on Friday\, March 6 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. \nDiane Kilgore Condon was born in Wisconsin and moved from Florida to Greenville in 1983 to attend Bob Jones University. Kilgore Condon has had solo exhibitions at the Greenville County Museum of Art and Bob Jones University. Her work has been included in group exhibitions throughout South Carolina and beyond\, including the Morris Museum of Art in Augusta\, GA\, the Burroughs and Chapin Museum in Myrtle Beach\, the Sumter County Gallery of Art\, the City Gallery at Waterfront Park in Charleston and the Pickens County Museum of Art and History. Kilgore Condon is among South Carolina’s most prolific and respected painters. She is the owner of Greenville’s Artbomb Studios. Established in 2001 in the Village of West Greenville\, Art Bomb launched what is now Greenville’s most important arts district. \nMemory and experience in the natural world significantly influence Kilgore Condon’s prolific painting practice. Flora and fauna inspire her compositions while a deeper narrative that relates to personal history influences the painted worlds that Kilgore Condon creates. The rich build up of color and densely painted compositions elicit the feeling of time passing while simultaneously evoking a sense of urgency. It’s as though the viewer is witnessing a spectacular event that happens so quickly it might be missed if not for the careful control of Kilgore Condon’s brush and the dexterity with which she is able to articulate the splendor that exists in places uncommon to observation.

SUMMARY:Art & Light | Anchorage Exhibition Series: Gretta McCall
DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery and The Anchorage Restaurant are pleased to announce the inaugural exhibition in their 2026 partnership series. A solo exhibition featuring work by local Greenville\, S.C. artist Gretta McCall will be on view at The Anchorage in the Village of West Greenville from January 6 to April 7\, 2026. The Anchorage Exhibition Series brings art beyond the walls of Art & Light Gallery to offer an immersive experience that fuses culinary and visual arts at The Anchorage Restaurant. \nGretta McCall’s paintings explore the complex interplay between ourselves and the natural world\, moving fluidly between abstraction and recognizable subject matter. Her process begins with an immersive “drawing expedition” into nature. These explorations result in quick\, expressive studies of compelling landscapes and forms\, which then serve as the source material for her paintings. Her work is driven by the desire to express emotion with the medium\, utilizing a love of color to explore endless possibilities and relationships. McCall states\, “The landscape has become the subject for exploration because nature has been my refuge\, solace and companion since I was a child. Each painting must have a distinct voice. Through the painting process I become aware of the deep places within me that are becoming a part of the painting. Life demands that we embody joy and sorrow simultaneously. Therefore\, I seek to reflect this in my work”. \nJoin Gretta McCall for an intimate artist talk on Thursday\, February 12 from 5:00-6:30 PM. Enjoy a signature cocktail by mixologist Mills Higgins along with Chef Zurkey curated small bites inspired by Gretta’s paintings. Ticket sales are limited with 25 spaces available. Visit The Anchorage to purchase tickets for the event. While Gretta McCall’s exhibition is on view at The Anchorage restaurant\, work included in the show is available for purchase through Art & Light Gallery. \nEXHIBITION DETAILS\nGretta McCall Solo Exhibition January 6 – April 7\, 2026\nArtist Talk: Thursday\, February 12 | 5 – 6:30pm The Anchorage Restaurant\, 586 Perry Ave.\, Greenville\, SC 29611

SUMMARY:Everything Belongs: Josh Jensen Solo Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery is happy to present “Everything Belongs”\, an exhibition of work by Josh Jensen (Charlotte\, N.C.) launching on the Art & Light website and in the gallery at 10:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday\, January 6 with an opening reception on Friday\, January 9 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. \nJosh Jensen is an abstract painter whose work has evolved from figurative oil to mixed media painting focused on color and movement\, informed by his career as a marriage and family therapist. Jensen finds that his work as a psychotherapist influences his artistic process by making him focus on a balance between chaos and order\, spontaneity and intention. His painting involves a balance of intuitive exploration and intentional application as he aims to create pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and meaningful. In his current painting practice Josh favors work with acrylics for their vibrant colors and versatile flow. \nIn “Everything Belongs”\, Jensen invites viewers to see beauty in the process of accepting imperfection. He states\, “Drawing on both jazz improvisation and biblical imagery\, my work suggests that our mistakes are raw material for grace. My creative goal is to embrace the inevitability of error and transform it\, trusting that what is most human in art is often what is most flawed and also most alive. Each piece captures the quiet revelation that nothing\, no color\, no moment\, no story\, is ever truly wasted.” \nOnce the predominant color relationships and overall composition of a painting begin to emerge\, Jensen interacts with the medium more intentionally and with more control while trying to remain faithful to the spontaneous beginning stages of the work. As a painter\, Josh seeks to strike a balance between open ended exploration\, allowing accidents to emerge\, while using formal technique and design elements to find command in the process. The end result combines harmonious color that expresses a sense of form and place with the improvisational nature of the painting medium.

SUMMARY:Vessels: Beth Elliott\, Teresa Roche and Liz Rundorff Smith
DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery is happy to present “Vessels”\, an exhibition of work by Beth Elliott (Asheville\, N.C.)\, Teresa Roche (Greenville\, S.C.) and Liz Rundorff Smith (Travelers Rest\, S.C.) launching on the Art & Light website and in the gallery at 10:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday\, December 2 with an opening reception on Friday\, December 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. \nThe word vessel means different things depending on context. A hollow container for transporting or holding something\, a boat\, a channel supporting life\, a person\, a message . . . the meanings are so vast it’s as though the word vessel describes life itself. The vessel is often defined by its shape but\, more importantly\, by its function and by the presumption that it contains something. The artists included in the Vessels exhibition find commonality in visual form\, even as they approach meaning differently\, by reinterpreting the concept of a container beyond its functional purpose. The vessel form—whether a ceramic pot or a sculptural abstraction—becomes a metaphor for holding or containing ideas\, memories\, and emotions. \nBeth Elliott reduces the vessel and its surface design to simple\, modest\, representational forms\, the surfaces of which outline internal stories and landscapes. Elliott’s educational foundation in biochemistry and landscape architecture heavily influences her visions and forms in clay and sculpture\, although her art is intentionally directed away from the precision that both science and architecture require. The freedom to create with abandon and explore with unfettered curiosity is essential to her artwork. Learning and studying materials and incorporating their properties and nuances into her work is an ongoing part of Beth’s artistic practice. She finds textural significance in her art while striving to create interpretable but abstract forms. \nTeresa Roche is a mixed media artist working in acrylic\, watercolor\, and collage. In building layers of paint and then scratching and sanding back into the surface\, Roche’s mixed media works are excavations of sorts- an unearthing of the past\, which is then transformed into a new\, abstracted story. The creative process and manipulation of materials fuels her work. Experimentation and combining of unlikely materials is an ongoing part of her creative practice. Her paintings often reflect a period of time or a memory\, but the abstract process allows for paint and other making tools to come together in unexpected ways. \nLiz Rundorff Smith paints bold\, bright and iconic abstractions in oil and encaustic paint. Her vibrant color palette is reminiscent of the decor and design trends of decades past that have become kitschy artifacts. Her work elevates the mundane\, mimicking the way we bring significance to loss with keepsakes and memorials. She wants to create work that evokes a sense of nostalgia and exposes the sentimentality in memory\, using shape to intimate objects that are no longer identifiable but retain familiarity and reference urns\, shrines\, and places of veneration. Embellishments like fringe and shiny gold finishes play into kitsch\, recalling party decorations\, parade floats and prize ribbons and elevating the ordinary to something to be celebrated.

SUMMARY:Art & Light | Anchorage Exhibition Series: Genna Grushovenko
DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery and The Anchorage Restaurant are happy to announce a solo exhibition of work by Greenville\, S.C. artist Genna Grushovenko on view at The Anchorage in the Village of West Greenville through January 6\, 2026. The Anchorage Exhibition Series brings art beyond the walls of Art & Light Gallery to offer an immersive experience that fuses culinary and visual arts. \nGennadiy Grushovenko is a mixed media artist with over 30 years of studio art practice. His artistic journey began in Kyiv\, Ukraine\, continued in LaGrange\, Georgia\, and ultimately landed in Greenville. Chief among Genna’s many inspirations are the primal use of color and a visceral\, spontaneous approach to creation that often characterizes abstract expressionism. Recently Genna has begun a new abstract body of work using painting techniques he modified and honed while painting with his wife and collaborator\, Signe Grushovenko for the past twenty-plus years. He almost never uses paint brushes\, instead relying on his hands and improvised tools to facilitate unique mark making and paint flow. He is creating pieces that explore fluidity and unpredictability by allowing the paint to move and take its own form on the canvas. \nJoin Genna Grushovenko for an intimate artist talk on Thursday\, November 20 from 5:00-6:30 PM. Enjoy a signature cocktail by mixologist Mills Higgins along with Chef Zurkey curated small bites inspired by Genna’s paintings. Ticket sales are limited with 25 spaces available. SUMMARY:Set The Table: Molly Mansfield\, Rachael Nerney Reese and Megan Trueblood
DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery is happy to present “Set The Table”\, an exhibition of work by Molly Mansfield (Austin\, T.X.)\, Rachael Nerney Reese (Charleston\, S.C.) and Megan Trueblood (Orem\, U.T.) launching on the Art & Light website and in the gallery at 10:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday\, November 4 with an opening reception on Friday\, November 7 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. \nMolly Mansfield studies the spaces we inhabit and the tablescapes that define our domestic lives. Mansfield employs a wet on wet approach to painting in oil\, laying down gestural brush strokes and often leaving some areas less developed than others. Molly’s practice is one of observation\, but also imagination. Her still life paintings often focus on the table—a gathering place and a place for connection\, sharing\, and vulnerability. She typically creates a composition using family heirlooms: dishes\, vintage fabrics\, half finished quilts of women from past decades. Mansfield states\, “I’m drawn to the spaces we inhabit and the way they shape and hold us. Everyday objects appear as silent witnesses\, keepers of story and memory. In these painted tablescapes\, belonging becomes less of a destination than a soft\, continuous unfolding. This body of work explores the layered experience of belonging—the deep desire to be known and accepted with the fullness of a mother’s love.” \nRachael Nerney Reese is a painter\, muralist\, and illustrator who earned a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her artwork captures fleeting moments through vibrant color\, light\, and pattern. Rachael finds inspiration in the everyday magic of food\, color\, and connection. Known for her joyful brushwork and love of all things food\, she turns tabletops into works of art. In “Set the Table” she captures the warmth of shared meals\, from sunny breakfasts and weekend brunches to cozy desserts and late-night bites. Every scene is a reminder to slow down\, savor the moment\, and enjoy the beauty of a well-set table. \nMegan Trueblood finds beauty in the familiar and the everyday\, her work is meant to inspire peace and provide a respite from the chaos of our busy lives. She is interested in the interaction of color and the use of negative space\, and explores both in her detailed\, luminous oil paintings. Trueblood says\, “I paint ordinary objects that are present in my home and part of my family life. Often\, as I make dinner or play with my children\, an object will beautifully catch the light\, and I’ll snap a quick photo to paint later in my studio. Many of us lead busy\, loud\, chaotic lives these days and I hope my paintings can be a little escape for the viewer.” Megan received her BFA from Brigham Young University\, where she has also taught as an adjunct professor.

SUMMARY:Golden: Emma Ballou Solo Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery is pleased to present “Golden”\, a solo exhibition of work by Emma Ballou (Buxton\, M.E.) launching on the Art & Light website and in the gallery at 10:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday\, September 30 with an opening reception on Friday\, October 3 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. \nWorking in acrylic and oil paint Emma Ballou captures the soft\, luminescent quality of light that she is most visually attracted to in the landscape. Ballou’s ethereal and moody paintings are influenced by her poor eyesight\, making her unique perspective of the world more about feeling than seeing. Her slightly-out-of-focus landscape paintings offer viewers an understanding of how light and dark shape our experience of the natural world. The work highlights the vivid\, fleeting details of the golden hour\, like the halos that outline blooming milkweed and queen anne’s lace and the sparkles of light that make individual blades of grass look like strands of gold. \nIn “Golden” Emma Ballou examines dusk\, which she considers “the most tender and flourishing time of day.” The word golden signifies a perfect middle ground\, a point of ideal balance. It is this intersection of light and dark\, this precise tipping point\, that creates a striking moment of clarity for the artist. Ballou states\, “When the day is done and starts slipping into night the golden hour appears. This normal daily occurrence has a surprising abundance of crescendo energy. Like the grand finale of a fireworks display on the fourth of July. But even as this golden moment starts you can sense its end. Day slides into night\, signaling that it’s finally time to rest and release the day’s energy so you can begin again tomorrow.”

DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery is happy to present “Nature’s Geometry”\, a two-person exhibition of work by Bethany Mabee (Peoria\, I.L.) and Shannon Woodford (Waxhaw\, N.C.) launching on the Art & Light website and in the gallery at 10:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday\, September 2 with an opening reception on Friday\, September 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Nature’s Geometry finds commonality\, in two very distinctive painting practices\, in the form of color\, composition\, line and layering. \nShannon Woodford creates multilayered\, expressionistic\, dramatic snapshots of nature. Working largely in florals\, Shannon uses the deceptively everyday nature of her subject matter to explore the hidden depths of their unexpected appeal. She likes exploring as many mediums as possible\, and has worked extensively with watercolors\, acrylics\, and encaustics. Her current focus is in oil paint and mixed-media on canvas. Shannon employs large brush strokes and repeated marks to convey her exploration of the natural world. She loves to stretch her artistic capabilities with the use of a bold color-story\, the striking natural juxtaposition of foliage hues\, and lush multitextured layers. Shannon draws inspiration from vistas of imperfect beauty searching out under-sung flowers (or even weeds) to coax forth their raw\, wild charm. \nBethany Mabee is an abstract painter and textile designer who has spent over 20 years immersed in the interior design industry while simultaneously cultivating her painting and studio practice. Her experiences in interior design serve as pivotal stepping stones in her development of a textile line and remain a constant source of inspiration in her studio work. Each step in Bethany’s process refuels a future process\, becoming a symbol of continuous and cyclical expansion. Her work serves as a moving meditation that explores improvisation through interactions with color and material. Completed paintings take on new life through the methodical process of pattern creation for fabric and wallpaper. This pattern creation becomes an extended exploration of contrast by transforming painting improvisation into intentional digital design.

SUMMARY:Rhythm and Flow
DESCRIPTION:Art & Light Gallery is happy to present Rhythm and Flow a solo exhibition of work by Daniel Klewer (Myrtle Beach\, S.C.) launching on the Art & Light website and in the gallery at 10:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday\, July 8 with an opening reception on Friday\, July 11 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. \nDaniel Klewer was born and raised in Milwaukee\, Wisconsin and majored in art at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. He also earned a Master of Arts in visual studies degree from Cardinal Stritch University\, Glendale\, Wisconsin. Klewer is largely recognized for his unconventional painting process\, characterized by a shift away from the use of a paintbrush and evidence of brushstrokes. His work often involves applying paint with non-traditional methods\, exploring color and texture through various techniques. Daniel’s love of the material properties of paint is evident in his treatment of abstract painted surfaces. He enjoys a meditative\, sequential process where the spontaneity of the material is allowed to influence the direction of the work. \nDaniel states\, “Light and color are driving forces in my work as I explore chromatic and tonal shifts. Primarily using a brushless paint application that stretches the paint’s physical qualities\, the textured surfaces of the paintings document investigations into the relationship between paintings and sculpture. My work flows between vibrant spontaneity and meditative minimalism as it reflects my pursuit of painting as a contemplative\, perceptual experience. The composition and colors explore how surfaces can communicate a story.”
