DESCRIPTION:Shayla McDaniel is a singer-songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, and producer crafting alt pop/rock for deep feelers and late-night thinkers to feel less alone. The Knoxville\, TN-based artist’s music has been featured in MTV’s “Siesta Key\,” Disney+ “Big Shot\,” The CW’s “Nancy Drew” and retail and dining spaces around the world. \nDrew Montgomery of Greenville\, South Carolina dives deep into his musical locker\, unfolding the questing puzzle one piece at a time: Kick. Most often found performing solo\, and sometimes with the band behind him\, the dynamic never changes in the music and craft that is Kick. Snare. Crash. and should not be taken lightly. \nFormerly Strange Orchard\, Hugh McCulloch Band or HMB is an evergreen mix of world\, Jazz\, alt\, and classic rock. Led by lead singer & songwriter as well as pianist and guitarist Hugh McCulloch\, we are focused on bringing you new but nostalgic melodies that take you back while taking a creative step forward.

SUMMARY:Brushstrokes of Serenity: Japanese Ink Painting
DESCRIPTION:…A Journey in Japanese Sumi-e Ink Painting\nWe are lucky to host Ayako Miller\, a visionary artist who is an expert in Sumi-e\, traditional Japanese ink painting. In this method of black ink painting the practitioner attempts to express complex feelings and subjects with simple\, minimalistic black Sumi ink strokes. Derived from charcoal\, these simple Sumi ink strokes are the key to making an expressive\, yet tranquil painting. Sumi-e originated from Zen Art\, which Buddhist monks and Samurai used to meditate and develop discipline.\nWe will paint simple and fun subjects from nature\, such as fish\, plants\, animals\, and basic Japanese calligraphy. Students will learn the basic techniques including making ink\, brush strokes\, creating traditional and non-traditional subjects\, along with knowledge of the history and culture of this art form. Due to the nature of this art form\, even a participant who feels they have little artistic ability will be able to create beautiful works of art to bring home. \nLast time we hosted Ayako the entire class was blown away by the peaceful instruction and invitation to create beautifully simple art. \nDate: Saturday\, April 11\, 2026\nTime: 2:00pm-5:00pm\nCost: $95\, includes all instruction and supplies\nAges: Adults and Teens\nClass size is limited to 12 participants

SUMMARY:A Line in Place: work by Robert Jameson
DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception: April 10\, 2026 | 6 – 8 PM \nFeaturing a series of works built on clean geometry and deliberate linework\, artist Robert Jameson explores the tension between order and individuality. Lines function as both a framework and a guide for the viewer’s eye\, reinforcing a sense of discipline and control. Yet within this structure\, subtle graffiti influences inject a sense of play and spontaneity. The result is a push and pull between precision and expression. \nOn the Stage: A Few Good Men\, May 7 – 24\, 2026\nCall (864) 233-6733 for tickets or visit centrestage.org

SUMMARY:April Art Party: "Ensemble" by Nathan Beard
DESCRIPTION:Have you seen “Ensemble” yet? 🤩 You’re going to love this immersive\, musically-inspired exhibition featuring the eye-popping work of Nathan Beard! Join us for the April First Friday Art Party on 4/3 from 6-9pm + free refreshments! \n🌟 On display: March 4th — April 25th\n🌟 April First Friday Art Party: April 3rd\, 6-9pm\n🌟 FREE 60-min Musical Performance by @fullbody.opera | Details coming soon! \nSt Petersburg\, FL artist Nathan Beard has been developing his Exit Music series for over 13 years. SUMMARY:PLAYSCAPE
DESCRIPTION:PLAYSCAPE \nJames McSharry & Glory Day McSharry\nArtists’ Reception: Friday\, April 3rd\, 6–9 PM \nSpoonbill Gallery presents PLAYSCAPE\, a two-person exhibition by artist couple James and Glory Day McSharry exploring balance\, scale\, and imagination through sculpture and assemblage.\nJames McSharry’s monumental Corten steel sculptures evoke a sense of curiosity through stacked\, stone-like forms that feel both precarious and purposeful. His work invites viewers to consider balance\, gravity\, and the spirit of experimentation. \nGlory Day McSharry’s wooden sculptures and assemblages extend her painting practice into three-dimensional space\, exploring color as form and abstraction through memory and association. \nCreated both individually and collaboratively\, the works in PLAYSCAPE reflect the artists’ shared commitment to curiosity\, learning\, and play. Together\, their sculptures create a dynamic rhythm between weight and lightness\, structure and spontaneity\, inviting viewers to slow down and rediscover a sense of wonder.

SUMMARY:Night Shifts with Emily Randolph
DESCRIPTION:Visit mixed-media abstract artist Emily Randolph in Studio A at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts on April 3\, 5-8PM during the GCCA’s Night Shift evening. \nEmily Randolph is an American contemporary artist whose work centers on abstraction informed by the rhythms of the natural world. Known for her minimalist compositions on birch wood panels\, Randolph creates paintings that explore the dialogue between color\, light\, and architectural silence. Her practice balances intuitive gesture with deliberate reduction\, producing works that are simultaneously expressive and contemplative. \nOriginally trained in photography and design and influenced by the perceptual questions posed by modernist abstraction\, Randolph developed a visual language that distills landscape into essence rather than depiction. The tactile presence of birch wood — chosen for its tonal warmth\, strength\, and organic architecture — provides both a conceptual anchor and a physical counterpoint to her restrained palette and layered surfaces. Her work has been acquired by private collectors across the United States\, and continues to evolve in scale and atmospheric depth. Randolph lives and works in South Carolina\, where proximity to water\, horizon lines\, mountains and open light remains an enduring catalyst for her artistic inquiry. \nwww.EmilyRandolph.com\nInfo.emrART@gmail.com\n101 Abney Street\nUpstairs in Studio A\nGReenville\, SC 29611

SUMMARY:Exhibit V... Believe
DESCRIPTION:Every 68 seconds\, someone in America is sexually assaulted… \nExhibit V… Believe is an innovative\, experiential multi-media art installation\, confronting one of the most damaging questions survivors of sexual assault are asked: “What were you wearing?” That question shifts blame\, distorts truth\, and reduces a life-altering trauma to a garment. \nThis exhibit rejects that narrative by creating a poignant display of garments\, art and information that accurately educates the community. Believing survivors is the first step to offenders being held accountable\, reporting to increase\, and hope and healing to take place. \nExhibit V… Believe is a compilation of art installation segments\, all designed to create a sensory experience that sharpens awareness of sexual assault and the realities faced by victims. The purpose is to help people recognize vulnerability when they encounter a survivor in need and know how to respond by directing them to Julie Valentine Center (JVC)\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming survivors’ lives from trauma toward healing\, stability\, and the ability to re-engage with life with restored agency and safety. \nJoin us as we further our mission of using the arts as a vehicle of healing and hope.
