SUMMARY:Piedmont Natural Gas DOWNTOWN ALIVE
DESCRIPTION:The Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive (DTA) presented by Edgeworth Capital Group\, kicks off the weekend every Thursday night with music at NOMA Square on Main Street from 5:30 – 8:30 PM. Since its inception in 1986\, more than 45\,000 people attend this event annually\, and it serves as the single largest fundraiser for the Metropolitan Arts Council’s services and programs. It is also a major force in the economy of downtown Greenville. The City of Greenville Special Events Department has been an outstanding partner in organizing and handling all the logistics of the event. \nTo highlight the visual and performing arts\, the city established the DTA-Metropolitan Arts Council tent. New since 2024\, the City and MAC are inviting multiple artists to be a part of an art market called “ARTS AFTER DARK” – a row of 6 tents featuring artists selling their work and\, if they choose\, participating in demonstrations or offering workshops on the 3rd Thursday of each month. The presence of artists within DTA has always been instrumental in creating greater awareness of the many spectacular visual artists and cultural amenities that make Greenville such a wonderful city. \nWe would like to thank the sponsors of Downtown Alive. We are very thankful for their support during past seasons and look forward to working with them again in the future. \n\nTitle sponsor – Piedmont Natural Gas\nPresenting Sponsor – Edgeworth Capital Group – Ameriprise Financial Services\, LLC\nOther Sponsors – Southern Crown Partners; KW Beverage\, Inc.; Ingles; Pepsi-Cola of Greenville; BreakThru Beverage; COM Federal Credit Union; VCOM\nMedia partners – Audacy; Community Journals; WYFF TV-4; GVL Media; The Fan\nAdditional sponsors –  Michelob Ultra; Cheers SC; Hyatt Regency Greenville; Signatures Apparel; Greenville Bike Taxi; NOMA Square\nYOU! – When you give to MAC\, you help keep programs like DTA thriving. SUMMARY:Brad Walker Trio
DESCRIPTION:Brad Walker / Matt Booth / Al Sergel \nBrad Walker is one of the most active and sought-after performers in the city of New Orleans. Perhaps best known for his “soaring” (Rolling Stone)\, “energetic” (NPR)\, and “tasteful” (Relix) solos on Saturday Night Live\, the Grammys\, and the Tonight Show with Nashville mega-star Sturgill Simpson\, Walker has five full-length releases under his own name and a decade of music- making in the Crescent City under his belt. \nDrummer and composer\, Alfred Sergel IV\, has shared the stage with Grammy award winning artists and recorded on numerous Billboard charting albums. The energy and excitement Sergel has brought to audiences worldwide supporting other artists\, he now brings to support his own original music which fuses pop melodic undertones within a modern jazz context. Sergel’s original music has grabbed the attention of NPR Music\, JAZZIZ Magazine and has hit the top 200 on the jazz charts. \nMatt Booth is a bassist\, composer\, and educator based in Durham NC. Over the last decade\, he has worked continuously in a wide range of groups and in various musical styles\, both in his previous home of New Orleans\, and touring around the world. He has a forthcoming album with a new quintet project\, and has released numerous albums over the years as a co-leader of the piano trio Extended\, his quartet Palindromes\, and the guitar trio Some Antics.

SUMMARY:Contra Dance
DESCRIPTION:Contra dance is a high energy\, non-competitive social dance done to live\, roots-based music. “Contra” refers to the formation of dances in lines “opposite” to each other. The dances resemble madcap English country dances and require fast reflexes. Each dance is taught briefly\, so no experience is needed; however\, we recommend newcomers attend the 30-minute orientation session before the dance. No partner necessary. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Presented by Harvest Moon Folk Society\, Greenville’s contra dance group for more than 35 years. Cash at the door\, or reserve tickets at www.harvestmoonfolk.org
