The gallery space, Ato Social Club, expands throughout the entire downstairs of the facility. The main hallway of the gallery connects all of our first-floor guest rooms and the art brings vitality to the space. Ato Social Club was formed to facilitate Art, not as casual consumption but as a thoughtful extension of Modal's ethos and desire to cultivate spaces for local and traveling creatives. Modal has hosted over 8 shows and exhibited work of over a dozen local artists across the property within its first three years of operations.
In 2023, Modal will begin a formal partnership with the Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber to initiate the Queer Arts Initiative, a program specifically designed to inform, support, and promote queer artists within the Upstate.
