A Walk Within: Exploring the Self
– a workshop in which Mom can develop her creativity and rediscover herself.
A Walk Within: Exploring the Self is a guided “hike,” using writing and photography as a compass to traverse the terrain of your self. During the first two of this three-session workshop, facilitators Polly Donohue and Heather Magruder will lead participants through a series of photography and creative writing exercises that will help them explore the self. Independent journaling and photography assignments between sessions will deepen each participant’s exploration. In the final session, Polly and Heather will guide participants through using their photography and writing to capture the essence of their discoveries in a Japanese stab-bind book. Each participant will leave A Walk Within: Exploring the Self with a greater knowledge of her self, a set of tools for further exploration and a Japanese stab-bind book.
Bring a notebook, a writing implement, a camera if you have one and an openness to discovering what’s within. No experience necessary. All sessions take place in Polly’s studio.
When: June 21st and 28th and one evening, TBD by participants
Where: 1207 Pendleton Street, Greenville
Cost: $150
How: to register for or to receive more information about A Walk Within: Exploring the Self,

presents two workshops:
Gordon Bradshaw is a former professor at Liverpool University and now
residing in Normandy, France. Concurrent with a one man show taking
place in Carrollton, Georgia, he has agreed to do a workshop in

forms as inspiration for creative expression in 2 and 3D media.
Artists in each medium who may not have much experience in the other
are encouraged to attend and to “work outside the box” in search
of inspiration and motivation. Gordon is an entertaining and
enlightening instructor.
Richard Seaman, a graduate of the College for Creative Studies, and
recently a student at the Florence Academy, is a taking a break while
doing a one-man show in Landrum, SC and will be teaching a workshop
entitled “Sight Size and the Figure”. This two-day workshop will
cover the basics of “Sight-Size” technique and incorporate a live
model the second day, utilizing this resurgent technique of the
Academic Realist Movement. Richard has close connections to the area,
having lived in Tryon prior to his departure to Florence.
Both workshops are $150.00 to sign up, or for further information,
