Artist Statement

I have a sincere fascination with impractical, surprising and absurd natures of groups and multiples. Material goods can transfer a sense of security and comfort. I create in quantity because of an ingrained idea that two is better than one, three is better than two, and six hundred sixty-five is better than six hundred sixty-four.

My work is about the dichotomies of abnormality vs. the harmony of ornamentation in color and form. It is decorative and minimal, restrained and exuberant, beautiful and coarse. The work combines feminine elements of a plush, dimly lit boudoir or a grandmother’s plastic couch.
