AGGG: “Drawing for the Artist Within”
As a Painter and Teacher I emphasize the need for a solid foundation in drawing. I have had many students come to me who love painting, but admit they cannot draw a stick figure.
Before I begin a painting I work out many of the important aspects of that painting by doing thumbnail sketches that address composition, light, perspective and the values I plan to use in executing the image in color.
At the request of many of my students I will be offering a workshop on DRAWING FOR THE ARTIST WITHIN at the Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville, 200 N. Main St Greenville.
The class will begin on Monday March 16th from 11-1:00 and meet each subsequent Monday for six weeks.
The cost of the workshop is $125.00. Materials and supplies are quite basic.
Supplies needed: A sketch pad (at least 11 x 14), a set of drawing pencils, charcoal, eraser, if possible, a drawing board and a freestanding mirror (most dollar stores have them.).
The class will focus on retraining the eye, hand and brain to work together in capturing images from life, the effect of light and dark on objects and perspective. It will help the student to draw what they see, and more important, to SEE what they wish to draw.
Class size will be limited to eight students. For more information and to send in your deposit contact Erin Cronin-Webb at 864 878-0221 or at email@example.com. A $50 deposit is required to secure your place in the class.

Blank Canvas is here to provide samplings of art to students that don’t get to experience it at home, school or enough as he/she pleases. Art supplies can be expensive and schools are cutting funding for such programs. So Blank Canvas was created to make art an extra-curricular activity for those that want more. We are big believers in allowing freedom for our students to experiment with new supplies and see what they can create on their own. In addition, we provide some instruction that may help them down the road in their artistic pursuits.
General Types of Classes :
After School Art Enrichment Classes at the YMCAs
